8/16/2023 0 Comments 2001 mazda protege lx![]() We both looked at each other, and said 'The cheapest and most dependable car you got.'. After we parked, the dealer came out and asked 'What are you looking for?'. Finally!!! We found a Dealership that really knows the value of a dollar, and they wanted to prove it. ![]() We were about to give up, and drive home, and thats when we saw E-Smart Auto. All the Lots we browsed just didnt seem to take any pride in their cars. There just weren't any 'quality' cars in my price range. We had been car shopping all day, and there were plenty of cars to be seen. My Sister and I were having one of the worst days of our lives. As indicated, have some knowledge of salvage repairable vehicles and get estimates up front and your repair experience will be much better. I've never had any trouble getting titles, bill of sale, or vehicles shipped upon purchase, etc from George. 3) Get a time frame on repairs from your mechanic: example: is his shop out 3 months on repairs? six months on repairs?Ĥ) Add the cost of the vehicle, parts, repairs and time to fix and compare this amount of money and time to the same model vehicle that a dealership or private owner has for sale and analyze if the repair of the salvage vehicle is worth it.sometimes it is: sometimes it's not. ![]() 2) Get an estimate on parts from George (or any other salvage yard) as this is added cost to what you are actually paying for the vehicle. A mechanic can identify hidden damage and cost that you as a buyer can not identify. Take him with you to look at the vehicle you are interest in. Paying him $100.00 for his time might save you thousands of dollars in the long run. I would recommend the following if you're looking at buying a salvage/repairable vehicle: 1) Choose your Auto Body mechanic FIRST prior to going to purchase a vehicle that is salvage/repairable and pay him for his time even if you DON"T BUY. I've purchased a number of cars from George at East Coast Auto Source over the years.

8/16/2023 0 Comments Desert cactus![]() Keep humidity below 30% to the extent possible. It is essential that you avoid over-watering so do not give water if the soil is still moist. Allow the water to drain for a few minutes once your cactus is lifted from the basin do not let the plant stand in a wet dish. Place your cactus pot in a basin of water and allow the water to wick upwards through the drainage hole into the soil of the plant for ten minutes or so and then check that water has adequately moistened the potting mixture before removing. Watering from the bottom is preferred as splashing water on the cactus may cause unsightly markings. That could be as often as once a week in hot, dry home or only every few weeks in a more humid, cool house. Water thoroughly once the top inch of potting mixture has gotten dry. While cacti have adapted to survive long periods of dryness in their native environments, they do need regular watering in your home. The near absence of leaves in desert cacti helps them to conserve water. You can supplement natural sunlight with full-spectrum, artificial light. Without regular rotation, the cactus is likely to become deformed. Your plant will benefit from being turned daily so that all sides receive light. Full sunlight is also needed to stimulate bud formation and flowering. Plants that receive inadequate light will grow thin and stretched in appearance. ![]() CARING FOR DESERT CACTI LightĬacti need strong, extended light exposure and in the northeastern United States that usually means giving your cactus the sunniest possible place in your home. The more familiar desert cacti originate in the arid regions of the Americas and take a variety of shapes and sizes, from low, branching structures to tall, tree-like shapes. Schlumbergera x buckleyi, or Christmas cactus, is an example of a tropical cactus. There are two general categories of cactus: tropical forest (or jungle) and desert. Each areole of a cactus can produce only one flower in its lifetime. The tufts and spines emerging from the areole are more evident in some species than in others. They are also, with few exceptions, native only to the Americas and the surrounding islands.Īreoles are the well-defined, small, fuzzy bumps on a cactus. A cactus also has unique characteristics that separate it from other succulents, primarily areoles from which spines, branches and flowers sprout. The relatively large interior to exterior area ratios of these plants reduces loss of water into the atmosphere. ![]() Succulents are a broad category of plants that have adapted fleshy leaves or stems for water storage. Cacti in the beds of the Haupt Conservatory at NYBG photo by Marlon Co Growing Cacti indoorsĬacti, with limited exceptions, are succulents with the typical high interior to exterior ratio that stems from the need to endure periods of drought in their native habitats. 8/16/2023 0 Comments Pull the pin challenge level 15![]() But, look carefully, It is not actually getting shorted. However, as we stated that the pin cannot be directly shorted to the ground or Vcc as this will eventually make the circuit damaged due to short circuit condition, but in this case, it is again getting shorted to the ground using the closed switch. So, when the switch is not being pressed, the logical input pin has always a default voltage of 5V or the pin is always High until the switch is pressed and the pin is shorted to ground making it logic Low. It is connected with the logic voltage from the supply source of 5V. The R1 resistor is acting as a pull-up resistor. The digital logic input pin P0.5 can be toggled from logic 1 or High to the logic 0 or Low using the switch SW1. If we need the high state as default and want to change the state to Low by some external interaction we can use the Pull-up resistor like the image below. Suppose, we need a default logic state and want to change the state by some interaction or external peripherals, we use a pull-up or pull-down resistors. Where and How to use Pull-up and Pull-down resistorsīy referencing the above microcontroller image, where the digital logic pins are shorted with the ground and VCC, we could change the connection using pull-up and pull-down resistors. At the same time both resistors, pull-down and pull-up resistors hold the digital state either Low or High. ![]() A pull-up resistor allow controlled current flow from supply voltage source to the digital input pins, where the pull-down resistors could effectively control current flow from digital pins to the ground. To control the current flow, we need those pull-down or pull up resistors. As direct connection eventually increase current flow just like the short circuit and could damage the sensitive logic circuit which is not advisable. As digital circuit works in low current, connecting the logic pins directly to the supply voltage or the ground is not a good choice. Now, if we replace the High and Low value with the actual voltage value then the High will be the logic level HIGH (lets say 5V) and Low will be the ground or 0v.Ī Pull-up resistor is used to make the default state of the digital pin as High or to the logic level (in the above image it is 5V) and a Pull-Down resistor does exactly opposite, it makes the default state of the digital pin as Low (0V).īut why we need those resistors instead we could connect the digital logic pins directly to the Logic level voltage or with the ground like the below image? So, in each case, the state gets changed as shown below. In both cases, we need to make the digital pin either ‘ High’ or ‘ Low’ but it cannot be left floating. In either case, we need to hold the digital pin either 0 and then change the state to 1 or we need to hold it 0 and then change to 1. In some cases, we need to change the state from 0 to 1 or from 1 to 0. If we consider a digital circuit, the pins are always be either 0 or 1. What are Pull-up and Pull-Down Resistor and Why we need them? Resistance is measured in Ohm with a sign of Ω. There are many different types of resistors. It is a passive component which provides resistance when current flow through it. Resistors are current limiting devices with are used abundantly in electronics circuits and products. |
